It's Scaawry Mommy!

Lately our Isaak is scared of everything it seems.
The dark, and thunderstorms and Scooby Doo.
And because we've had "tunderstorms" every night as of late our sleeping quarters have been a bit more scrunched.
As I was putting him to bed last night I told him he needed to stay in his own comfy bed because he wiggles too much and squishes me...
He was quick to promise me he wouldn't wiggle anymore and sleep closer to daddy.
Not exactly the response I was hoping for.
But I have a weakness for scared tears.
And I secretly like him squished right in between us.
Even if I don't get as much sleep.

  1. Bless you! I, too, have a weakness for scared tears and miss the days I could comfort my kids and make things all better. They grow up too fast and there will come a time when they don't need you, nearly as much. Treasure now.

  2. This is all normal. My 9 year old granddaughter is terrified of thunderstorms. She called me the other day to say she was calling so she couldn't think about the lightning and thunder if she was talking to me. How sweet is that? Cherish it is all I can say.
