Class of 2024

Yep, now I feel old. Thanks for that Miss Bigler.

The morning started out great. Smiles all around.

We found his new desk. And then.

It was all over. He got nervous and the tears welled up.
And of course I was there taking pictures.
To show girlfriends some day. HA HA!
He was making Daddy feel really bad. So Mama had to take over.
Why do I always have to be the bad guy?!?!
I left feeling a bit uneasy, but I knew he would do great.
At the end of the day he was mad that we picked him up early.
We heard all about Robert.
He took the teachers Gatorade out of her
fridge and claimed it as his.
And Mackenzie. She wanted to hold his hand all day.
{Apparently he let her}
The art room was "Awesome."
And he can't wait for tomorrow.
And. And. And.
It was 8:30pm and he was still telling me stories.
I finally had to tell him he had to stop talking and go to sleep.
I can't wait to hear all about tomorrow.

SHOES

I know Fall is quickly approaching and I CAN’T wait.
The weather has cooled down a bit. Finally.
Spring and Fall are the absolute best times to live in Kansas City.
Perhaps bright colors are not very fallish,
but I’m totally loving the bright and chunky styles that I’ve recently come across.
Here are some of my favorites.

Favorite Photo of the Week

We attended a cousins birthday party this
weekend at a pony farm.
Boy paradise for sure.
I love it when they can just run and play and mess
with anything that their little hearts desire.
Except for the kitty that would have nothing to do with them
as much as they tried to woo him out of his hiding place.
Here was my favorite shot of my two and the birthday boy.

Rainbow Pico

There is nothing more refreshing during the sweltering month of
August than a bowl of hand made pico paired with
crispy tortilla chips.  YUM!
I changed up the recipe just a bit and used rainbow colored cherry tomatoes.
Have you seen them?
They are the cutest darn tomatoes I've ever seen.
My kids kept wanting to touch them. They look like fruit.
Ours were from Fresh Connect, but I've also seen them at the grocery store.
Get ready to drool and then go make some for yourself.
