Easter Eggs and Chocolate Peeps and Spring...Oh My!

How cute is this?
Some of my favorite things about Easter..

Download it for free here.
I printed mine as an 8X10 for $3 bucks from CVS.
I plan to use it to decorate my Easter dessert buffet.

Pop Pop Pop

I've never heard of popping corn on a cob,
but when a package of it was floating around
the office I thought the boys would get a kick out of it.

They just wanted to touch it.
It was weird.
They couldn't believe it was for eating.

Wow! It was popping.
They were amazed.
Silly boys.

Now that looks more like it.
I added a drizzle of butter and a shake or two of salt and they chowed down.

"Really mom, a picture of me drinking water?"
I couldn't resist.

So thankful it's the weekend.
Snow in the forecast for tomorrow.
Stupid snow. Stay away.
Now I feel like I'm back in third grade.
It's kind of fun.
I should not be allowed to post this late at night.
Good night!

Bare Foot Boy

Spring
has finally arrived in Kansas City.
We celebrated by wearing flip flops.
Except for Isaak.
He celebrated with bare feet.
Some battles are not worth fighting.
And he gets a ride most places.
(Because otherwise he runs and runs and runs-boy am I ready for that phase to be over with)
Lucky kid.

Dinner

Dinner can be challenging.
The moment we walk through the door at 5:30 the kids are whining...fussing....STARVING.
I have about 20 minutes to whip something up to fill their hungry tummies.
My sister told me about pancake muffins.
And how easy and good they are.
Here's my take.

Get out your ramekins or muffin pan. Spray with Pam
Mix some pancake mix and pour away baby.
Sprinkle with something yummy.
(Baby Choco Chips, Breakfast Sausage, Bacon, etc.)
And bake. 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

Here is my plate.

Just kidding. Add fruit and some bacon and call it dinner.

They liked it.
I agree little ramekin.
I agree.

4 Mile Run

READY...

SET...

What are you doing today?
************************************************************
Update-
Well I survived my first run. I finished 4 miles in just under 50 minutes.
The hubby came in at just under 42 minutes.
I really wanted to beat him, but I knew it wasn't likely.
Maybe next time? Ha!

My Day

This pretty much describes my day.
And week really.
Nuff said.
Good Night!

Lego Mess

Most days my living room looks like this.

I sometimes curse those wretched stubbed blocks.
And you can see why.
Stepping on one is an eye opening experience.
But for some reason never seems to phase my two year old.
Feet of steel I tell ya!

They of course always have to be dumped.
They say it’s because they can’t find that one little wheel to complete the car.
I say they take pleasure in making me crazy.

And it is quite a spectacle to see 1000 colorful blocks clinking and rushing out onto the floor.

I grimace at the thought of the sound.
Ryan and I look at each other.
One of us usually muffles under our breath.

There they go…

I usually always get the question.
Mom, how do I build a castle?
or a ship?
or a tree house?

Parking Garage By Gentry
Use your imagination is often my reply.
I love to see the things they create and the stories that go with them. The imagination of a child never ceases to amaze me.

Picking them up after play is no easy task.
I find at least one Lego every day hiding somewhere.
Under a chair leg.
Behind the couch.
On a shelf.
Very random

And then I think to myself a mess is just a mess for only a short while.
They’ll be grown all too soon.
And a pile of Legos strewn about will be the least of my concern.
